Foreign Economic Activity Strategy will be developed in Bashkiria

An essential support for new investments and economic growth is a broad foreign economic agenda. We have intensified our work with Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Turkey, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries. Radiy Khabirov said this today in his Address to the State Assembly of the Republic.

“We are incredibly successful friends with our Belarusian colleagues. The Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, which took place in Ufa this summer and received a broad positive response in our countries, is proof of this.

Our relations with Kazakhstan are on the rise. Along with the economic component, we actively cooperate in the cultural and humanitarian spheres. Recognition of the results of this partnership was the decision of the leaders of our states to hold the tenth-anniversary Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan here in Ufa next year.

The undisputed leader, accounting for a quarter of our total trade turnover, is the People's Republic of China. We consider China a powerful partner with enormous financial resources, advanced technologies, and competencies, and we discuss specific projects with Chinese investors,” noted the head of the region.

The share of non-resource, non-energy exports and the number of exporting enterprises must grow. Five years ago, there were 800 of them; now, there are twice as many.

“On instructions from the President, the Federal Government is developing a draft medium-term Strategy for developing foreign economic activity. The regions have been tasked with developing and approving their strategy by April 1, defining goals, objectives, competitive advantages, and priorities. And most importantly - results. We need specific benefits from each business mission or forum - investments made in our economy. I ask the republic's government to submit the document for approval in early March.

Despite unprecedented pressure, more than half the world's countries work with us. It has already become clear to everyone that sanctions cannot hold back our progress. The concrete results of our work confirm this,” said Radiy Khabirov.
