Bashkiria proposed federal program to support consumer cooperation

Minister of Trade and Services of the Republic Alexey Gusev spoke at parliamentary hearings in the Federation Council on the topic: “Improving the legislation of the Russian Federation on consumer and agricultural cooperation.” He talked about the issues he raised on social media.

Alexey Gusev noted that today, the consumer sector faces a change in trade turnover. The pandemic and sanctions have made severe adjustments to both the structure of the country’s trade turnover and supply channels. Retail chains have vacated shelves previously occupied by foreign companies or companies with foreign participation. This allowed small enterprises to enter the market to replace imports. By combining their capabilities, they could well compete with famous brands.

According to him, the more local goods there are in the trade system, the more predictable pricing will be.

However, today, the development of consumer cooperation is hampered by the lack of uniform approaches at the federal level, the limited ability of cooperatives to obtain loans, and other factors.

Alexey Gusev proposed adopting a program to develop consumer cooperation at the federal level, which would include support measures for the sales direction of consumer cooperation, thereby covering all participants in the chain, including the consumer.
