The State Assembly of Bashkiria plans to adopt changes to the law “On the development of agriculture in the Republic of Bashkortostan” in December. The bill proposes to provide state support to those involved in selecting varieties and hybrids of agricultural plants on the republic's territory. The press service of the Republican Parliament reported this.
According to the Chairman of the State Assembly of the Republic, Konstantin Tolkachev, this will contribute to developing domestic selection, improving the quality of seed material, and increasing crop yields. Following the Doctrine of Food Security of the Russian Federation, the goal is to achieve by 2030 a 75% supply of seeds of higher reproductions of domestic selection. State support measures will stimulate the development of seed production, contribute to the creation of highly profitable, promising varieties and hybrids of agricultural plants, and ensure food security.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency discussed the prospects for developing the republic’s agro-industrial complex.
