51 smart traffic lights were installed in Ufa

In Ufa, another 51 smart traffic light objects and 134 traffic intensity detectors were installed in the national project “Safe Quality Roads”.

As the regional Ministry of Transport reported, there are now 101 “smart” intersections in the capital of Bashkiria. The work is being carried out during the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems. The equipment allows you to use adaptive control modes and adjust the duration of green and red traffic lights on city streets. Experts plan to complete the adjustments to the traffic lights by December 26, 2023.

“New “smart” intersections have appeared on the streets that provide exit from Ufa. For example, traffic lights on the streets of Zaki Validi, Karl Marx, Tsyurupa, the city of Halle, Vologodskaya, Perovskaya, and others have been modernized. It is expected that thanks to the implementation of Intelligent Transport Systems, the capacity of these streets will increase by 20%,” said Alexander Klebanov, Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic.

Let us remind you that the project is being implemented in three stages until 2024. As part of the first stage, it was possible to install 50 “smart” traffic lights on such busy transport arteries of Ufa as Oktyabrya Avenue, Mendeleev, Zhukova, Rossiyskaya, and Komsomolskaya streets. Thanks to the implementation of the project, 140 traffic light facilities out of 415 existing ones will be modernized. More than 1 billion rubles will be allocated for its implementation.

As previously reported by Bashinform News Agency, the national project “Safe Quality Roads” was developed by the Russian Ministry of Transport to implement the provisions of the presidential Decree “On the national goals and strategic objectives of the development of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030.” The scale of the national project covers almost the entire country, 84 constituent entities of Russia participate in it.
