The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, held a working meeting with the head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport, Viktor Basargin, on November 16 in Moscow, within the framework of the XVII International Forum “Transport of Russia”. Issues related to identifying and suppressing the activities of illegal carriers, weight and size control on highways, urban transportation, and other topical issues were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, Viktor Basargin noted that Timur Mukhametyanov, who from 2017 to 2020 worked as chairman of the State Committee of Bashkortostan for Transport and Road Facilities, was appointed acting head of the Western Ural Interregional Department of State Road Supervision of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport.
“Bashkortostan is one of the leading regions in weight and dimensional control; the republic has the largest number of automatic points and complexes. We discussed issues related to increasing the amount of funds to the republican budget from violators of weight and dimensional control. We plan to increase the staff of our employees to carry out this work around the clock, without any failures,” noted Viktor Basargin.
The head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport (Rostransnadzor) emphasized that a lot of work is being done in Bashkortostan to identify and suppress the activities of illegal carriers.
“We will intensify our work in this direction. Today, the main thing for us is the safety of passenger transportation. Bashkortostan has a positive experience in many areas in the field of transport supervision, which other regions can use as an example,” said Viktor Basargin.
This year, the Interregional Territorial Directorate of the Federal Service for Supervision of Transport in the Volga Federal District, together with other bodies, carried out 101 on-site activities to identify and suppress the activities of illegal carriers. Based on their results, 58 protocols were drawn up for transporting passengers without a license, and 65 vehicles were placed in a specialized parking lot.
