The Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Kazakh Business Council, Eduard Davydov, during the 19th Forum of Interregional Cooperation between the two countries, which is taking place in Kostanay, said that in the first half of 2023 alone, the volume of Russian investment in the republic’s economy exceeded 400 million US dollars.
At the same time, according to Eduard Davydov, there are critical sectors of agriculture where high import dependence remains.
As the Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Kazakh Business Council added, Russia is connected with Kazakhstan by a common historical past, commitment to traditional values, active economic cooperation, and the memory of joint victories and achievements.
“Both Russia and Kazakhstan embarked on the path of independent, sovereign development after the collapse of the Soviet Union, managing to preserve the heritage that we inherited from past generations. Russian-Kazakh cooperation in business and entrepreneurship is at a traditionally high level. More than 18 thousand Russian companies and more than 3.5 thousand joint ventures operate in Kazakhstan in almost all sectors of the economy,” said Eduard Davydov.
Earlier, the delegation of Bashkortostan in Kazakhstan discussed with the East Kazakhstan region the development of the agro-industrial complex. In addition, the Bashkir Soda Company announced plans to build a chemical complex in Kazakhstan. Representatives of the republic also visited several enterprises in the Kostanay region - a flour mill, a bakery plant, and a vegetable storehouse.
