Commuter passenger traffic reached 3.5 million people in Bashkiria
Suburban trains have carried more than 3.5 million passengers in less than ten months since the beginning of the year. This corresponds to the entire volume of passengers in 2022.
This is the result of a lot of work to update the rolling stock, the Ministry of Transport commented. In 2021-2022, 71 new cars arrived in the republic - more than half of the local fleet. These include comfortable electric trains “Lastochka” and EP2D, and rail buses RA-3 “Orlan”.
Suburban trains serve the region's western, southern, and eastern directions: Ufa – Priyutovo – Abdulino, Ufa – Kumertau – Orenburg, Ufa – Asha. Within the Ufa urban agglomeration, interval movement of commuter trains is organized - no more than 30 minutes between trains in the morning and evening hours. The transportation involves 25 commuter trains, which carry about 4 thousand passengers daily and up to 6 thousand passengers on peak days.
Today, many region residents have begun to use commuter rail transport for daily trips to work and school, the Ministry of Transport of the Republic noted.
