Non-cash money turnover increased by 12% In Bashkiria in first half of year

During January-June 2023, residents of the republic made 902 million transactions using bank cards. The amount of transactions amounted to 1.6 trillion rubles, according to the National Bank of Bashkiria. Compared to six months of 2022, transactions increased by 10%, and their volume by 12%.

 Most often, residents of the republic use cards to pay for goods and services - 80% of the total number of card transactions. 18% are transfers, 2% are cash withdrawals. At the same time, the number of non-cash payments over the year increased by 14%, and transactions for withdrawing money decreased by 9%.

 More than 267 thousand bank cards were issued in the republic in January- June. By the beginning of July, their number exceeded 9.8 million. This is 11% more than in mid-2022.

 “The development of payment infrastructure largely facilitates the growth of non-cash payments. Over the past six months, the number of devices for servicing cards in the region has grown by more than 2.5%. However, the need to withdraw cash remains, especially in rural areas and remote areas of the republic,” Liliya Yakupova, Deputy Governor of the National Bank RB commented.
