Bashkiria increased exports to Uzbekistan by 26%

According to the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria - Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy RB Rustam Muratov, the republic increased exports to Uzbekistan by 26%. He announced this during the III Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in Kazan.

“At the end of 2022, Uzbekistan ranks 8th in the foreign trade turnover of Bashkortostan. Export growth from 2021 to 2022 was 35%. Over the 7 months of this year, we have observed an increase in exports by 26% and a noticeable increase in imports, which emphasizes our cooperation's mutual benefit and great potential. Our delegation today includes 18 representatives of small and medium-sized businesses interested in cooperation with Uzbekistan's business in mechanical engineering, construction, woodworking and light industry, and agriculture,” Rustam Muratov commented.

As he noted, road maps for cooperation between Bashkiria and the regions of Uzbekistan - Fergana and Jizzakh have now been developed and are ready for signing. The plans cover agricultural, tourism, educational, cultural and sports areas, as well as labor migration.

Since 2017, the number of exporting enterprises in Bashkiria has increased by 73% - from 733 to 1273 in 2022. 95% of them export non-raw materials, and non-energy goods, Bashinform News Agency reported.
