

The Head of the Russian Cabinet of Ministers, Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting with deputy prime ministers, discussed the draft federal budget for 2024 and the planning period 2025–2026, which was submitted to the State Duma on September 29.
The Prime Minister noted that the country's main financial document is balanced and guarantees the fulfillment of social obligations to people.
According to him, in the next three years, more than 1 trillion rubles will be allocated to provide medicines to citizens, including patients with socially significant diseases and children with severe and rare diseases. Patients with diabetes and oncology will also receive assistance. The construction and renovation of medical facilities will be financed. Subsidizing interest rates on mortgages and providing payments for partial repayment to parents with many children will continue, as well as payments for a single benefit to needy pregnant women and parents of children under 17. In 2024, the creation of new places in general education institutions, the overhaul of schools, the provision of hot meals to primary school students, and payments for class management will continue. Funding is provided for the construction of world-class campuses.
Mikhail Mishustin also thanked representatives of the State Duma and the Federation Council for actively participating in developing the draft budget. Following the meeting, he instructed the deputy prime ministers to ensure and monitor the personal participation of heads of ministries and departments in meetings of relevant committees where discussions will be held.
