Regions can receive small-class buses at National Welfare Fund expense

Regions can receive small-class buses at the expense of the National Welfare Fund. The order to amend the passport of the investment project to update the public transport fleet in the regions was signed by the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Mishustin.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin, thanks to this, entities will be able to purchase small-class buses on lease on preferential terms.

“Now it is possible to transfer small-class buses to the regions under leasing agreements on preferential terms. Thanks to this, 4.5 thousand buses, including small ones, will be supplied to the regions. In addition, to speed up the delivery of new public transport, payment financing deadlines are being shifted from January next year to the fourth quarter of this year. Making changes to the project will create conditions for providing citizens with comfortable transport services and increasing the volume of passenger traffic in urban and suburban traffic,” noted Marat Khusnullin.

The order provides for an increase in the number of lessee regions. This will expand the domestic production of small, medium, large, and extra-large class buses. In addition, updating the public transport fleet in the regions will help reduce the age of rolling stock and its negative impact on the environment.

Bashinform News Agency wrote that Ufa would receive 50 new buses for the national “Safe Quality Roads” project.
