Bashkiria doubled the export of granulated sunflower meal in 2023. For 8 months of 2023, the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Bashkiria issued 1,723 export phytosanitary certificates for 121.539 thousand tons of coarse sunflower meal. The goods were intended for export to the EU and EAEU countries.
It is noted that samples of regulated products taken from each of the 1,723 railway cars underwent entomological and herbological examinations at the Bashkir testing laboratory. Based on the research results, no dangerous quarantine organisms were identified; products of plant origin comply with the requirements of the European and Customs Unions and importing countries.
“The volume of valuable high-protein feed additives for farm animals and poultry shipped this year is almost twice as high as last year. During the same period in 2022, 891 consignments of sunflower meal with a total weight of 63.86 thousand tons were shipped from the region abroad,” the press service of Rosselkhoznadzor told Bashinform News Agency.
By-products from the processing of sunflower seeds are in high demand among livestock farmers in the Republic, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, China, and other countries.
