The salaries of public sector workers should grow, as well as the average wages of Russians in the economy of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including by the end of 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects on Tuesday.
"We cannot weaken attention to the salary increase of the so-called specified categories of specialists - public sector employees. Their salaries should also grow, as in the economy as a whole. We once agreed that they should be comparable to these indicators. The ratio of salaries of state employees to the average on the regional economy should be carried out, including following the results of the current year 2023," Vladimir Putin said.
The president also said that in the first half of 2023, the average salary in the Russian Federation increased by 4.2%. Vladimir Putin noted that the dynamics of the average wage in the economy of a constituent entity of the Russian Federation is one of the leading indicators of the effectiveness of management teams.
