Food inflation rises in Bashkiria in July

According to the National Bank of Bashkiria, in July, inflation in the food sector in the region amounted to 1.83% after -0.25% in June. As economists explain, the acceleration of price growth is defined by the weakening of the ruble, rising suppliers' costs, and a reduction in the supply of certain products.

Due to the ruble's depreciation, imported vegetables, and fruits arrived at higher prices than in 2022. The cost of chicken meat has risen - a reduction in supply played a role here (due to the bird flu that hit poultry farms in the southern regions of the Russian Federation) and the rise in the price of imported additives and vaccines.

Bashinform News Agency told earlier how food prices changed in July.

Price growth also accelerated in the non-food sector - +0.61% after -1.23% in June.

Inflation in the services sector fell to 7.3% in July from 8.6% a month earlier, mainly due to last year's high comparative base. The service sector's most “influential” article is about passenger transportation.

Headline inflation in the region was 2.77% in July after 1.6% in June. In general, in the Russian Federation - 4.3%.
