Annual inflation rises to 4.3% in July — Bank of Russia

Tatyana Aksyutina

In July, inflation in the country amounted to 4.3%, the third consecutive month above 4%, according to the Bank of Russia. The release of the Central Bank notes that due to the weakening of the ruble, categories dependent on imports have noticeably risen in price: appliances and electronics, cars, foreign tourism, and fruits. The prices for meat products and gasoline also increased significantly.

Without considering temporary factors and goods with volatile prices, the regulator said inflationary pressures continued to increase under the influence of growing demand gradually.

As Bashinform News Agency reported, today, August 15, the Central Bank will hold an extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia on the issue of the key rate.
