Inflation slowed to 0.01% in first week of August in Russia
Weekly inflation slowed down in Russia by August 7, Federal Service of State Statistics notes. Prices rose by 0.01% last week against 0.13% in the previous week. According to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, inflation in the country accelerated to 4.43% by August 7 from 4.42% a week earlier.
This process was affected by the seasonal decline in prices for vegetables and fruits (products fell by 1.9%) and a 3.9% decrease in economy-class flights. That is, goods and services with high volatility played a role in slowing down price growth the week before last.
Since the beginning of the year, consumer prices in Russia have grown by 3.4%.
