Unemployed were counted in Bashkiria

16.2 thousand people who were not employed were registered with the employment service of Bashkiria by the end of June 2023. The number officially registered as unemployed amounted to 14.3 thousand people, Bashkir Statistical Agency reported.

The level of registered unemployment was 0.7 percent of the labor force. In June of this year, 3.1 thousand people received the status of unemployed in the region, and 2 thousand people were employed in a month.

Meanwhile, by the end of June, there were almost 52,000 vacancies in the Republican vacancy bank. This is 5.9 percent less than at the end of May 2023.

As Bashinform News Agency previously reported regarding Bashkir Statistical Agency, in Bashkiria, the labor force aged 15 and over in March-May 2023 amounted to 1.937 million people.

Of these, about 1.893 million people, or 97.7%, were classified as employed in economic activities. Another 44.1 thousand people (2.3%) - as unemployed, meeting the criteria of the International Labor Organization (that is, they did not have a job or profitable occupation, they were looking for a job and were ready to start it in the surveyed week).
