Mortgage housing in bankruptcy cases will be left to Russians

Mortgage bankrupts will be able to keep only housing. The Cabinet of Ministers supported such a bill, Izvestia reports regarding the draft official recall of the government.

It is reported that the borrower will need to conclude a settlement agreement with the bank or draw up a debt restructuring plan. Experts noted that such a measure would protect citizens who regularly repaid their mortgages but were in a difficult situation. At the same time, they note that providing a compensation mechanism for creditors is necessary.

“A settlement agreement or a debt restructuring plan will not apply to the debtor’s relations with other creditors, including the first and second priority, as well as to other property of the debtor,” follows from the document's text.

It is noted that the Cabinet of Ministers supports the project, subject to revision, considering the comments. For example, it is necessary to work out the conditions for concluding agreements to ensure the protection of the interests of creditors to determine the requirements for repaying the debt.

Bashinform News Agency reported that the mortgage portfolio increased by 21.4% to 421.9 billion rubles in Bashkiria over the year.
