The State Duma adopted amendments to the law "On Banks and Banking Activity" in the second reading. Banks will no longer be able to charge individuals a commission for transferring funds to their accounts in other credit institutions. The maximum amount of free transfers will be 30 million rubles per month. Banks will be prohibited from limiting the size and number of transfers within this amount.
“A person has the right to dispose of his funds at his discretion. By opening an account or depositing in a bank, a citizen already pays for banking services. He must withdraw or transfer this money without any financial obstacles,” commented State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
In addition, as Bashinform News Agency reported, in a year, banks will be required to return funds transferred to fraudsters to customers (but only if their account is included in a special register).
