Bashkiria and federal center are working to give port status to Agidel city

The project to create a special economic zone in the city of Agidel is under consideration by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

“We are jointly analyzing what status it is better to give to this territory. The port status is associated with the need for large-scale dredging works on the Belaya River in the city zone. This requires additional investment. At the same time, the development of local enterprises is also possible with the help of other approaches, including through the expansion of the territory of the Alga Special Economic Zone,” said Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkortostan, in an interview with RIA Novosti at the XXVI St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that the issue of creating a port economic zone in Agidel was discussed in January 2023 at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In an interview, the Head of the Republic also explained how the project for the construction of a hospital for war veterans in Ufa is being implemented.

“We have worked out several options for financing this facility. The initial version, with the participation of funds from the National Wealth Fund, assumed certain requirements for the hospital. At the moment, we have found a concessionaire with whom we plan to start construction work. The site for the hospital has already been determined, and the design will begin this summer. We plan to build a large facility with an area of about 70 thousand square meters,” said Radiy Khabirov.
