Government will allocate over 668 million rubles to regions for agricultural land improvements

32 regions, including Bashkiria, will receive additional funding to reimburse part of the costs of agricultural producers for land reclamation activities in 2023. Orders on the redistribution of more than 668 million rubles for these purposes were signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

“With the help of federal funding, reclamation measures will be carried out in the regions, including the construction and reconstruction of irrigation and drainage systems and hydraulic structures, as well as clearing land from woody and grassy vegetation. This will expand the fund of agricultural land, which in turn will ensure the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex and serve to achieve the country’s food security goals,” the government said in a statement.

The work is being carried out within the framework of the state program for the effective involvement of agricultural land in the circulation and the development of the reclamation complex, approved by the government in 2021. The main goal is to involve more than 13 million hectares of agricultural land in circulation, Bashinform News Agency reported earlier.
