Bank of Russia kept its key rate at 7.5% per annum
The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia kept the key rate at 7.5% per annum on June 9, 2023, according to the official website of the Central Bank.
It is noted that economic activity is growing faster than previously expected, and there is an active recovery of domestic demand. The Bank will make further decisions on the key rate, considering the actual and expected inflation dynamics. The possibility of raising the key rate at the next meetings is allowed to stabilize inflation near 4% in 2024 and beyond. According to the forecast of the Bank of Russia, annual inflation will be 4.5–6.5% in 2023 and will return to 4% in 2024.
