Hay harvesting continues in Bashkiria

The forage harvesting campaign is gaining momentum in Bashkiria. Today, work is underway in 17 districts, the Republican Ministry of Agriculture reported.

More than 5 thousand hectares of fodder crops have been mowed, of which 4.5 thousand hectares are perennial grasses. So far, 580 tons of hay and 20,000 tons of haylage have been harvested.

This year, 610 thousand hectares have been allocated for fodder - according to the standards, it is necessary to prepare at least 28-30 centners of fodder units per head of livestock for wintering.

The area of fodder grasses in 2023 in the region is 610 thousand hectares. It should be noted that the agrarians of Bashkortostan set themselves to prepare at least 28-30 centners of feed units per conditional head of livestock.

“Our villagers have no time to rest. The sowing season is ending, and the time has come to prepare hay and haylage for livestock wintering. The time factor plays a significant role here - it is impossible to overexpose or underexpose feed, milk yield, and weight gain depend on their quality,” said Radiy Khabirov, Head of Bashkiria, on his social media.
