Vladimir Putin signed law on certain pensions assigning procedure

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the law "On Amendments to the Federal Laws 'On State Pension Provision in the Russian Federation' and 'On Insurance Pensions'." The document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information.

The innovations involve the unclaimed appointment of insurance and social pensions in the event of the loss of a breadwinner, as well as social allowances for children whose parents are unknown.

The law provides that such pensions are assigned from the date of death of the breadwinner based on data that are at the disposal of the body providing pensions. The decision on appointing such allowances will be made within at most five working days. In addition, it is clarified that persons with grounds for the appointment of insurance and social annuities will receive one pension, which will be more profitable.

The document also clarifies the concept of "disabled citizens". In particular, they include children who have reached the age of 18 and have completed their studies in the educational programs of elementary general or secondary general education until September 1 of the year the training was completed.
