Bashkiria and Turkey agro-industrial complex representatives discussed cooperation

The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and Turkey in 2022 exceeded $7.3 billion, of which more than $5 billion was exported from the Russian Federation. Russian agricultural exports account for about 25% of the total volume of imported agricultural products. This was reported by the participants of the session "Agro-industrial complex as a driver for the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Turkey."

Representatives of Turkish businesses noted that they advise their countrymen to work with Bashkortostan, as there is a hot attitude towards business and a minimum of bureaucratic barriers. Entrepreneurs stressed the importance of developing logistics chains in matters of the import and export of agricultural products. This is a sore subject since many goods are transported by road and must be more robust.

“We know the republic well, and we know the quality of the grain that is produced here. We know where it can be delivered. From here, already processed products can be well supplied - fructose, maltose, starch or alcohols, biotenol, lysine," the representative of the Turkish company said.

“Today, the agro-industrial complex of the republic produces agricultural products 1.5 times more than the region needs. The volume amounted to 247 billion rubles in 2022, exceeding 2021 by 28%. In the future, we can increase the volumes by 2.5 - 3 times. Therefore, we need markets. In the past, we actively worked with the EU countries and adopted many modern technologies. Now let's reorient to the East and Asia. We are ready to supply the most diverse range of agricultural products. We are also waiting for foreign investors, including Turkish ones, who want to produce agricultural products in the region. We need long-term partnerships,” said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov.
