809.6 thousand square meters of housing were built in Bashkiria in January-March

In Bashkiria, in the first quarter of 2023, housing was built by 2.9% less than in January-March 2022 - 809.6 thousand square meters. At the same time, the volume of individual construction continues to grow while the volume of construction of apartment buildings continues to decline.

According to Bashkir Statistical Agency, 10,000 apartments in MKDs and individual houses were put into operation in the first quarter.

The volume of individual housing construction grew by 16.3% compared to the first quarter of last year. At their own expense and with the help of loans, residents of the republic completed 4611 of their own houses with a total area of 525.3 thousand square meters. The private sector generally accounts for almost 65% of the housing built.

Builders companies handed over 284.3 thousand square meters of housing (25.6% less than in January-March 2022).

Regarding housing construction, Bashkiria remains in 2nd place in the Volga Federal District and the top ten in the country - in 9th place.

Residential development data has to be compared to last year's high base, which is hard to beat. As Bashinform News Agency reported, in 2022, for the first time in the history of Bashkiria, the volume of commissioned residential space exceeded 3 million square meters (+5.4% compared to the previous year). 39.6 thousand apartments were built against 39 thousand in 2021.
