The Russian government will allocate over 7 billion rubles to 80 municipalities from 48 regions. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, at a meeting with deputy prime ministers, noted that they all won the seventh All-Russian competition for projects to create a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements.
“The regions that submitted the best projects will receive 80 to 400 million rubles. The funds will be used to implement comprehensive solutions to restart important places for cities - parks, embankments, squares, and streets. This event is held annually at the initiative of the President. For six years, more than 600 municipalities of almost all subjects of the country have won it. Last year, the head of state instructed to double the prize fund to 20 billion rubles. In this regard, it was decided to organize an additional seventh competition and expand it by inviting cities with a population of up to 200 thousand people to participate. Over the entire period of holding such a selection of projects has become not just an important event for the regions. This is an effective tool for developing territories and changing the appearance of our settlements,” Mikhail Mishustin noted.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that Meleuz became the competition winner with the project "Blooming Coast of Meleuz", which provides for the improvement of the territory of the Meleuzka river embankment and the surrounding area. The project involves the integration of the embankment and the market as the most economically active space in the city.
4 cities of Bashkortostan won the competition in August 2022: Agidel, Dyurtyuli, Ishimbay, and Yanaul.
“Bashkiria won 27 times. This is one of the best results in the Russian Federation. For this, I thank the Ministry of Housing and Public Utilities and the Institute for Urban Development. We must continue to win. But we suffered a lot with the implementation, so we should select contractors more carefully,” said the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, at a weekly operational meeting in early 2023.
