Sugar production in Bashkiria increased by almost 40 percent

Two sugar factories processed more than 1.3 million tons of sugar beets and produced almost 200,000 tons of sugar in Bashkiria, the regional Ministry of Agriculture press service reported.

“Sugar production increased by 38 percent in the republic compared to the same period in 2022,” the agricultural department stated.

By February 1, the Chishminsky sugar factory and the Raevsugar Company received almost the same amount of granulated sugar - 99 and 100 thousand tons, respectively.

The department recalled that both sugar factories of the republic underwent a large-scale reconstruction - investments allowed to increase production capacity by almost one and a half times. Thus, the Raevsakhar Company implemented an investment project that provides for the modernization of production and brings the capacity of the sugar beet processing plant to 5.5 thousand tons per day. The reconstruction of the Chishminsky sugar plant increased the average daily processing capacity to 6,000 tons of beets per day.

As Bashinform News Agency reported earlier, the sugar beet harvest last year amounted to 1.3 million tons with an average yield of 31.24 tons per hectare and an average sugar content of 17 percent.
