Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree to include an investment project for preferential leasing of domestic buses in the list of independent projects. They, in turn, receive funding from the National Wealth Fund (NWF) on a reimbursable basis.
44 billion rubles will be allocated from the National Welfare Fund's funds for the project's implementation in 2023-2024. The State Transport Leasing Company plans to purchase 4,130 buses with various modifications. Of these, 1,990 buses will be bought in 2023 and 2,140 in 2024. The vehicles will be leased to regional transport companies for seven years at 3% per annum.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that Bashkortostan became the first region in Russia to receive 35 NefAZ buses under this federal program. The amount of the contract for their supply amounted to 493.5 million rubles. Over the next two years, the state-owned carrier Bashavtotrans will receive 85 large-class buses running on gas motor fuel to serve city routes.
The Russian government noted that this decision would improve transport services for the population, and the volume of passenger traffic would also increase. In addition, the loading of automobile factories producing buses of medium, large and extra-large classes will be increased.
