A record grain has been harvested over the past 33 years in the Volga Federal District regions, including Bashkiria. This was reported in the press service of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Volga Federal District.
The district’s regions harvested 36.9 million tons of grain and legumes in 2022, almost twice as much as in 2021.
The region's leader in the volume of harvested grain is the Saratov region, where farmers harvested 6 million 480 tons of grain. Indicators of 5 million tons exceeded Bashkiria and Tatarstan. The grain harvest in the Orenburg region reached 4 million tons last year.
“These regions are the largest producers of grain and leguminous crops in the district and throughout the country. They are among the 15 regions of Russia with the largest gross grain harvest,” recalled the press service of the presidential envoy to the Volga Federal District. — According to the results of last year, in the regions of the Volga Federal District as a whole, agrarians have harvested a record grain over the past 33 years (since 1990). Almost a quarter of the all-Russian gross grain harvest is the merit of the regions of the district.”
According to Igor Komarov, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District, the 2022 harvesting campaign was a success.
“The district enterprises are still leading in the gross harvest of grain and legumes thanks to a set of federal and regional measures. Through concessional loans, subsidies, and leasing, enterprises upgrade equipment, purchase fertilizers, and elite seeds, modernize production facilities, attract specialists, and generally make rural life more comfortable.”
Meanwhile, the agricultural production index for January-September 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 significantly exceeded the all-Russian value and amounted to 113.6% (in Russia - 105.2%). Growth in the production of agricultural products is observed in all regions of the district, including Bashkiria.
Russia harvested more than 153.8 million tons of grain in net weight in 2022, of which over 104.4 million tons were wheat, Bashinform News Agency informed earlier, citing Rosstat data.
As Bashinform News Agency reported, the 2022 harvest in Bashkiria, including grain crops, significantly exceeded last year's figures.
“5 million tons of grain - we were waiting for this figure. This is the fourth achievement in the history of the republic. I congratulate our farmers on this achievement. 5 million tons were received in 1983, 5.2 million - in 1985, and 5.9 million - in 1986. And now we have again conquered the mark of 5 million tons - for the first time since the 1980s," Bashinform News Agency quoted the Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov.
