The leaders in the presence of bee colonies are the Gafuriisky and Iglinsky districts of Bashkortostan. They contain 19 thousand of bee colonies and produce 600 tons of honey. In 11 districts, there are from 7 to 10 thousand bee colonies. Over the 4 years of implementing the republican program for the development of beekeeping, the volume of marketable honey has increased by 23%, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Agriculture Ilshat Fazrakhmanov said at the government's weekly operational meeting at the Republic Management Center.
“About 45-50% of the produced honey is sold to wholesalers and processors. The rest of the honey is sold at fairs, markets, or via the Internet. Buyers who still trust bulk honey are also accustomed to this format,” the head of the agricultural department noted.
Work continues in the republic on registering beekeepers of all forms of ownership in the RegAgro system and issuing apiary passports.
Over the past two years, more than 42 million rubles of state grants and subsidies have been allocated to beekeepers aimed at developing the industry.
In the republic, much attention is paid to preserving and reproducing purebred dark forest bees - the indigenous breed of Bashkortostan.
At the end of last year, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia assigned the Altyn Solok Interregional Center for the Protection and Promotion of Beekeeping Products of Bashkortostan the status of a laboratory in which molecular genetic examination of honey bees and honey products will be carried out.
A genetic database on the dark forest bee has already been formed in the republic, promising foci of the purebred hereditary elite have been discovered, and sampling has been carried out in the natural habitats of the bee population.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that 20 million rubles from the budget would be allocated to support beekeeping in the republic.
