USPTU will receive 50 million rubles from federal budget for cooperation with industrial enterprises

Ufa State Petroleum Technical University is among the fifteen universities and research institutes in Russia that will receive 2.4 billion rubles from the federal budget for cooperation with industrial enterprises. For developing the composition of multifunctional coatings based on polyolefins, the technology of their production and application to steel and concrete surfaces to ensure the corrosion resistance of the manufactured equipment, USPTU, and the initiator of the project LLC UralEnergoResource will receive 50 million rubles.

“The Ministry of Education and Science of Russia has identified recipients of subsidies from the federal budget for the development of cooperation between Russian universities, scientific institutions, and organizations in the real sector of the economy for the implementation of complex projects to create high-tech industries. The competition is being implemented as part of the national project Science and Universities,” the agency said in a statement.

It was noted that the funding is for three years. The first part will be allocated in 2023.

The Head of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, Valery Falkov, noted that within three years, the subsidy recipients would create technologies and new industries in priority areas for the Russian economy. These are aviation and shipbuilding, microelectronics, agriculture, composite materials, robotics, pharmaceuticals, and laser technologies.

“Today, universities and scientific organizations are not expected to achieve abstract academic achievements but concrete results. The government of the Russian Federation is providing unprecedented support measures to ensure a direct path from the laboratory sample to the assembly line. One of them is a competition to create cooperation between science and industry. For more than 10 years, about 65 billion rubles have been allocated from the state budget to implement joint projects. At the same time, the share of co-financing from industrial partners amounted to about 80 billion rubles,” the minister noted.
