Sugar production in Bashkiria exceeded republican requirements by five times

Sugar production in Bashkiria has already exceeded 150 thousand tons, the regional Ministry of Agriculture reported, emphasizing that sugar processing in the republic continues now.

As Bashinform News Agency previously reported regarding the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government - Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Bashkortostan Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Bashkiria completely covers its sugar needs.

According to the latest data from the agricultural department, the Raevsugar Company and the Chishminsky sugar plant processed more than 980,000 tons of root crops.

“The volume of sugar produced amounted to 150.6 thousand tons. This is more than 40 percent more than last year, - stated the press secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Bashkiria Almaz Galimov. “I would like to note that according to medical standards, the region’s need for sugar is 32,000 tons per year.”

In total, in the agricultural season of 2022, sugar beets were cultivated in the republic on an area of 44,000 hectares. The gross harvest of root crops exceeded 1.3 million tons, and the average yield was 312.4 centners per hectare.
