Sunflower harvest in Bashkiria will exceed last year's figures

Agrarians of Bashkiria harvested more than half of the sunflower crop, said the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov.

More than 280 thousand tons of oilseeds have already been collected. Productivity - more than 1.5 tons per hectare.

“We gave 300,000 hectares for this crop in 2022,” Radiy Khabirov posted on his Telegram channel, “for the entire last year, the harvest amounted to just over 300,000 tons, this year the results will be higher. Now there are the most suitable weather conditions for sunflower harvesting.”

Bashkiria is in the top 10 regions of Russia for the production of vegetable oil now. Two oil extraction plants in Bashkiria produced 326 thousand tons of the product at the end of 2021.

“The Republic is in the top ten in the export of oil and fat products. The export volume amounted to $232 million in 2021. The indicators for 2022 will be at least no worse, the Head of Bashkiria said. Sunflower oil is produced not only by large factories. This is also done by farmers and agricultural cooperatives in Bashkiria. Their product is unique in its way.”
