25% of EU countries restored trade with Russia to February level

Six countries of the European Union (EU) in the middle of the year simultaneously restored exports and imports with Russia to at least the level of February. Such data follow from the analysis of national statistical services.

Exports of seven EU countries to Russia in early summer exceeded the values ​​of February. Latvia distinguished itself more than others in this regard - it increased the supply of goods to the Russian Federation by 67 percent.

Imports (from Russia) exceeded late-winter levels in ten countries, among them, Slovenia by 4.4 times, Croatia - 2.7 times, and Czech Republic - 2 times.

In 18 countries, the largest decline in deliveries to Russia occurred in April. However, 13 countries in the first half of the year never reduced the import of Russian goods.

As a result, in the first half of the year, the export of goods from the EU to Russia decreased by 31 percent and amounted to 28.4 billion euros (41.1 billion in the same period last year). However, imports from Russia over the same period increased by 83 percent and reached 121.7 billion euros (66.4 billion last year).
