45% of sugar beet area harvested in Bashkiria
The average yield of root crops was 28600 kg/ha, sugar content - 14.7%
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in 15 districts of Bashkiria. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, by October 3, the region's farms had harvested 45% of the area or 19.8 thousand hectares. The gross harvest of root crops amounted to 567 thousand tons, of which more than 302 thousand tons were exported for processing in factories.
The average beet yield is 286 kg/hectare. For comparison: in 2021, the yield was 26980 kg/hectare, in 2020 - 45020 kg/hectare, in 2019 - 38130 kg/hectare. The average sugar content is 14.7%.
Two sugar refineries in the region, Raevsakhar and Chishminsky Sugar Factory have processed 224,000 tons of root crops and produced about 33,000 tons of sugar to date.
