More than 390 thousand tons of sugar beets were harvested in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, sugar beet is being harvested in 15 out of 19 districts that have sown this crop. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 22, farms dug up 14 thousand hectares - about a third of all areas sown with sugar beets. The gross yield of root crops exceeded 390 thousand tons, the average yield is 280 centners per hectare (in 2021, the average yield was above 300 centners per hectare, and in 2020 - about 400 centners per hectare). Data on the sugar content of the new crop of root crops has not yet been reported.

But this year, the area under crops has significantly increased - 19 sugar beet farms have sown 44 thousand hectares (in 2021 - 36.5 thousand hectares, in 2020 - 28.8 thousand hectares).

Sugar refineries have started processing and have already produced more than 17,000 tons of sugar from 124,000 tons of beets.
