Radiy Khabirov outlined key tasks to improve Bashkiria business sheriffs’ work

The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov met with deputy heads of city and district administrations (business sheriffs) responsible for supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. The Head of Bashkortostan outlined the key tasks to improve their work and noted that the institution of business sheriffs in Bashkortostan not just existed but  became an important part of the regional business support policy, open dialogue with the leadership of the region and business without intermediaries. Moreover, business sheriffs have become an integral part of the development of the municipal economy and promotion of the socio-economic potential of the region.

The institute of business sheriffs appeared in the republic about three years ago. Today, the indicators of its activities are among the main ones in the standard of activities of local governments for the development of entrepreneurship in municipal districts.

“At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Russia Andrey Belousov named the institute of business sheriffs as one of the best practices in Russia. I want to emphasize once again that the business sheriff should be mainly engaged in supporting entrepreneurial activities, developing small businesses in their cities and regions, and attracting investments,” said Radiy Khabirov.

According to him, the meetings, which are held every Thursday, bring business and government closer. As a good example, the Head of the Region cited the activities of the investment committee of the Republic of Bashkortostan within the framework of the "Investment Hours" session, noting the importance of consistent support for entrepreneurs until the final implementation of their project.

“To solve the problem, it is necessary to keep it under constant control. I understand that now we all live in difficult times, but I am glad that the number of self-employed people is increasing in the republic, and small business is developing. On the part of the leadership, we also took several anti-crisis measures to support industry and business,” The Head of Bashkortostan said.

Radiy Khabirov drew special attention from the deputy heads of administrations for entrepreneurship to a new preferential loan product, which allows receiving funds for investments at 3-4.5 percent per annum.

“By the end of the year, the allocated loans may reach 50 billion rubles. The priority is given to small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of agricultural processing, logistics, and hotel business. You need to analyze the new product and present it as widely as possible in the business environment. At our next meeting, we will discuss how effective the new product is for entrepreneurs,” Radiy Khabirov stressed.

The Head of Bashkortostan noted that each city or district should strive to organize its festival related to folk crafts and tourism, such as the Kupets 2.0 hospitality festival in Sterlitamak. In his opinion, they generally work to increase the tourist attractiveness of the republic and help the development of small businesses.

Summing up the meeting, the Head of Bashkortostan thanked the business sheriffs for their work.

“You are the main assistants to entrepreneurs locally. You have executive, and public powers. You must help entrepreneurs, always try to keep your promises,” said Radiy Khabirov.
