From September 3, the Russian government will introduce temporary quotas for the export of paper and cardboard. The corresponding decree signed by Mikhail Mishustin is published on the official website of the body.
The quota, which will last until December 3, 2022, will be 30,000 tons. The volumes among exporters will be distributed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
“The initiative is aimed at supporting manufacturers of cardboard packaging that use waste paper as the main raw material for their products. In addition, it will prevent a shortage of such raw materials in the domestic market,” the government said in a statement.
