Bashkiria will become largest producer of dairy farming embryos in Russia

The Center for Advanced Technologies in the Field of Genetics and Embryology has been established at the Bashkir Agrarian University. Today it was visited by Federal Minister Dmitry Patrushev and Head of the Region Radiy Khabirov.

Today in Ufa the Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev and the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov visited the Bashkir State Agrarian University. They examined the activities of the Center for Advanced Technologies in the field of genetics and embryology and visited the faculties of agricultural technology and forestry, as well as food technology.

Bashkir State Agrarian University (BSAU) is consistently among the top ten universities in Russia that prepare agricultural specialists. Students study at eight faculties in 22 bachelor's and 16 master's programs.

A Center for Advanced Technologies in the Field of Genetics and Embryology was established at the Agricultural University within the framework of the world-class Eurasian Research and Educational Center, with the financial support of the Tavros Group of Companies. Its main task is to increase productivity and reduce the level of import dependence of the livestock industry on foreign breeding stock.

It will be engaged in the serial production of embryos (including the cloning method) of elite breeds of dairy cattle with high genetic potential, increased productivity, and fully adapted to local conditions. The specialists of the center explained that with the obtained embryos it would be possible to accelerate the reproduction of high-breeding animals. With the help of embryo transplantation with the given parameters, you can get up to 10 calves.

Previously, there were only a few such centers in Russia, and the largest of them specialized in meat-producing cattle. If the project is successful, Bashkortostan will become the largest center for the production of embryos for dairy farming in Russia.

Radiy Khabirov and Dmitry Patrushev also toured the veterinary clinic and the consulting and diagnostic center.

Radiy Khabirov and Dmitry Patrushev visited the training and production laboratory for assessing the quality of dairy raw materials and products, the meat products workshop, and the cooking laboratory organized according to WorldSkills standards at the Faculty of Food Technologies. Here they are engaged in the development of cooking technologies and the development of recipes. According to the rector of BSAU Ildar Gabitov, the faculty participates in the formation of the optimal menu for school canteens, and also closely cooperates with entrepreneurs of the republic working in the field of catering and the production of semi-finished products.
