Design of railway ring around Ufa and branch line to airport is scheduled for 2023

The design of the railway ring around the Bashkir capital and the railway line to the Ufa international airport is planned to begin next year, Vyacheslav Dmitriev, head of the Kuibyshev railway, a branch of Russian Railways, told Bashinform.

As Dmitriev stressed, the priority task in the near future is the Mobile City initiative of the Russian Ministry of Transport, aimed at transforming the urban transport system.

Meanwhile, as Raif Abdrakhimov, vice-premier of the government of Bashkiria, noted at a briefing, the republic was developing quite rapidly in the transport sector.

“We are number one in Russia, we are doing very well in terms of development. We are grateful to Russian Railways for supporting us and going forward. This is comfort, a new standard of living, to which we must strive and get used, ” the Deputy Prime Minister concluded.

As Bashinform reported earlier, a solemn departure of the Lastochka train along the route Ufa - Raevka - Ufa took place today. The modern Lastochka will run as a five-car train on the Ufa-Raevka route. Travel time will be 1 hour 40 minutes. Stops are provided at Dema, Chishmy-1, Shingak-Kul, and Davlekanovo stations.

The route will become daily (previously, Lastochka ran between the Bashkir capital and Raevka only on weekends and holidays.

Recall that the first Lastochka began operating in the region on April 1, 2022.
