Head of Bashkiria announced increase in international flights from Ufa

The Head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, announced an increase in direct flights from Ufa International Airport to other countries.

As Radiy Khabirov emphasized at a briefing session of the government, people should be given the opportunity to fly away and return "calmly and directly."

“Our airport is developing well, but, I emphasize, as soon as any opportunities open up, we will move on. Let's go for subsidizing at the initial stage and so on. This is also the president’s instruction to create conditions for direct flights and departures as much as possible,” the Head of the Region said, adding that currently, Ufa Airport was working to increase flights to Egypt, Kazakhstan, and Turkey, Armenia, and the United Arab Emirates.

At the same time, Radiy Khabirov noted that the branch of directions along domestic airlines is also developing well. In total, these are 29 destinations.

“We only have 15-17 daily flights to Moscow,” he said. “Ufa International Airport is one of our efficient enterprises. According to the results of the first half of the year, 1.740 million passengers were served, which is six percent more than in 2021. Despite everything, we are growing. For comparison: in Russia, this figure is one percent.”

According to the Head of Bashkiria, Ufa Airport plans to serve at least 3.7 million passengers by the end of the year. The two millionth passenger is expected to be served today.
