Andrey Nazarov told what Bashkiria pharmaceutical industry needs for import substitution

Manufacturers of medicines and medical equipment are waiting for VAT refunds, speeding up bureaucratic procedures, domestic hardware, and software.

Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Andrey Nazarov devoted his next post on social media to import substitution in the medical industry.

“During the period of COVID restrictions, Bashkortostan gained a lot of experience in reducing dependence on imports. In 2020, we produced almost 5.5 million reusable masks and more than 1 million protective suits.

In the medical industry, we have a good practice of import substitution, and import substitution in the pharmaceutical industry is growing. In the region, more than 95% of the produced volume of pharmaceutical products is formed by the two largest enterprises - the Immunopreparat branch of NPP Microgen and OJSC Pharmstandard-UfaVITA.

We conducted a survey and found out that to support the industry, it is necessary:

- refund of value added tax for domestic manufacturers of medical devices;

- speeding up the state registration of scarce medical devices manufactured in the Russian Federation;

- substitution of foreign components and reagents supplies;

- replacement of hardware and software base.

The government and business will be able to overcome sanctions restrictions, ensure the development of production and support small and medium-sized businesses in the field of medicine,” the Bashkir prime minister believes.
