

Bashkiria and Uzbekistan will continue to cooperate in labor migration area. The day before, a working meeting was held in Ufa between the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Protection RB, Lenara Ivanova, with the chief specialist of the representative office of the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation, Ulugbek Teshabaev.
The meeting was a continuation of previous negotiations at various levels, including during the visit of the official delegation of Bashkortostan to Uzbekistan with the Minister of Employment and Labor Relations of Uzbekistan Nozim Khusanov. The parties discussed the prospects for cooperation and the conditions for creating safe and skilled labor migration.
“Bashkortostan is interested in making up for the lack of labor resources to maintain the set pace of development of the republic's economy. At the same time, we are for civilized labor migration, these processes must become completely transparent,” Lenara Ivanova said.
The minister also spoke about the guarantees for labor migrants, which became possible due to the well-adjusted migration policy of the region. She also touched upon the "Promotion of voluntary resettlement to the Republic of Bashkortostan of compatriots living abroad" state program. Over the entire period of the program, from 2018 to 2022, 502 compatriots arrived in the republic, including 64 people from Uzbekistan.
In general, the increase in international migration in 2021, which ended with positive migration indicators for the republic for the first time in 8 years, amounted to 9,024 people. 1,856 people arrived in Bashkortostan from Uzbekistan or 26.2% of the number of arrivals from the CIS countries.
