According to the National Bureau of Credit Histories, if in five months of 2021 the residents of Bashkiria were issued consumer loans for 52.1 billion rubles, then in January-May 2022 - for 25.7 billion rubles.
The average consumer credit in Bashkiria amounted to 131,856 rubles - 15.6% more than in April. However, this is 28th place in the list of Russia's 30 most economically active regions.
In Russia, in general, in January-May, consumer loans were issued in the amount of 0.88 trillion rubles - 49.8% less than in January-May 2021, and 23.5% less than in the first five months of 2020 (the beginning of the pandemic).
Analysts of the National Bureau of Credit Histories note that, in general, the current situation with the issuance of consumer loans is similar to the quarantine in the spring of 2020. The major blow to retail lending came in March-April when the key rate was raised to 20%. And although from the second half of April to June 10, the Central Bank rapidly reduced the key rate to 9.5%, the situation in retail lending is still unstable - people are wary of applying for loans in challenging economic conditions, and banks issue loans only to borrowers with a good personal rating.
