Bashkortostan will become pilot platform for integrating measures to support university start-ups

Bashkortostan will become a pilot platform for the integration of regional and federal measures to support university startups. This statement was made by the director of the Innovation Promotion Center in the Republic Ruslan Shaimukhametov following the session at the Innoprom-2022 International Industrial Exhibition in Yekaterinburg. The organizers brought together young scientists, students, university staff, and representatives of the innovation ecosystem from different regions of Russia.

During the meeting, representatives of leading development institutions spoke about measures to support innovative university start-ups. The speakers were representatives of the Skolkovo Foundation, the Innovation Promotion Fund, the Venture Fund and the Industrial Development Fund of Bashkiria, the Regional Industrial Development Fund of the Republic of Komi, and the Innovation Promotion Center in Bashkortostan. In particular, it was about financing innovative start-ups.

Thus, the Skolkovo Foundation will reimburse individuals for part of their investments in university projects. This program will attract about 6 billion rubles of private investment and compensate for about 3 billion rubles. The speakers also spoke about grant competitions, for example, winners under the programs of the Innovation Promotion Fund can receive from 500,000 to 30 million rubles for the development of projects. Also, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science plans to create 15 university startup studios and 20 entrepreneurial incubators as part of the federal project “University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform”. These platforms are designed to help develop technological entrepreneurship among young people.

As a result of the meeting, the organizers - the leadership of the Innovation Promotion Center in Bashkiria - decided to introduce the most effective practices for the development of innovative start-ups of young scientists in the republic.
