Sabantuy brought together thousands of participants in Moscow

In Moscow, on the territory of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, a citywide Sabantuy was held. The event was attended by a representative delegation from Bashkiria, which included: Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on Science, Education and Culture Lilia Gumerova, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Presidium of the World Kurultay of the Bashkirs Elvira Aitkulova, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus Amina Shafikova, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Bashkortostan under President of the Russian Federation Ildar Bikbaev, heads of administrations of the Ishimbay and Karmaskalinsky districts, stars of the Bashkir stage.

The Sabantuy program includes performances by Bashkir artists, national games, "Bayge" sports competitions, contests, prize draws, and a youth disco. The official brands of the Republic of Bashkortostan were presented at the event. Master classes were organized in felting and making a Bashkir carpet. A fair of folk art and crafts took place. Bashkir pop stars and masters of art performed on two stages, presenting their favorite folk songs and dances to the audience.

The first Sabantuy was held in Moscow in 1996. Its scope and popularity have grown markedly for two and a half decades. The holiday has become one of the most massive in the capital of Russia, tens of thousands of people of different nationalities and religions participate in it.
