All paper money will be modernized In Russia in 2022-2025

On June 30, the Bank of Russia will present an updated 100-ruble banknote. Modernization is carried out every few years to increase the security and durability of banknotes. From 2022 to 2025, the entire banknote series will be modernized except for banknotes in 200 and 2000 rubles, which appeared much later than the others.

The current banknotes will still be in use, there is no need to change old banknotes for new ones. They will be phased out gradually. The replacement takes place when the money arrives at the bank, the National Bank of Bashkiria explained.

The new money will have enhanced protection and a new design. Each bill will be dedicated to one of the federal districts of Russia. An attraction from the Volga District will be depicted on the updated thousand-ruble banknote, which the Bank of Russia plans to put into circulation in 2023. The object has not yet been selected - perhaps it will be a landmark of Bashkortostan.
