On June 17, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov signed an agreement with the head of the federal tourism agency Zarina Doguzova on cooperation in the development of the Greater Ural interregional project at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was also signed by the Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin, the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, the Governor of the Tyumen Region Alexander Moor and the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Alexei Teksler. The "Greater Ural" is a large-scale interregional project, in which territories geographically related to the Urals are included. The five regions agreed that they would jointly develop domestic tourism.
The territories of the five regions that signed the agreement today have a rich recreational potential, opportunities for further development of cultural, educational, business, skiing, ethnographic and other types of tourism.
Hiking, water, cycling and other interregional routes are developed taking into account the adjacent borders of the regions and including the basic objects of the tourist show. Integral spaces will be created for tourists, with information about routes, unique travel destinations, as well as convenient logistics to the main locations and display points, a comfortable tourist environment throughout the journey. Unified visitor centers and service standards will be formed to this end.
As part of the development of the Greater Ural macro-region, it will be necessary to build an extensive network of access roads, develop an engineering network and connect newly created facilities to it.
