Products, textiles, carpets - Bashkortostan establishes trade ties with Samarkand region of Uzbekistan

Prospects for cooperation were discussed today at a meeting between Radiy Khabirov and the khokim of the Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov. The Head of Bashkortostan made a post about it on his social media.

“Bashkortostan has a long-standing friendship with the Samarkand region, the largest economic center of Uzbekistan, first of all, through the fate of our ancestors and compatriots. We plan to strengthen our friendship with close economic ties. The potential of Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan is huge. We discussed the prospects for cooperation today with the khokim of the Samarkand region Erkinjon Turdimov,” Radiy Khabirov posted.

According to the Head of the Republic, Bashkortostan is interested in importing fruits and vegetables from Uzbekistan. In turn, Bashkiria will increase the supply of milk powder, sunflower oil, hatching eggs, share experience, technology, and scientific developments in agriculture, and beekeeping. It is also planned to supply Bashkir agricultural machinery to the region. Import of textiles, fabrics, knitwear, and garments will be organized from the Samarkand region.

“Today we discussed with the SAG company a possibility of localizing the production of carpets in Bashkortostan. It is the largest manufacturer of carpets and rugs in Central Asia and the CIS. We are a dynamically building republic, I am sure that there will be demand for these products. From the point of view of the economy, this means jobs, taxes,” the Head of Bashkortostan said. “We are ready to supply products of our machine-building complex and machine-tool plants to Samarkand. And of course, we are interested in developing relations in the field of tourism. But this topic deserves a separate post.”
